Bowls: Woodside get points haul
WOODSIDE collected the major share of the points when they took on White Hall in their opening Shield matches of the new bowls campaign.
In the Beharrel at White Hall, T Turner beat C Davies 16-15 and A Brend triumphed 21-13 over C Littlebury, but A Bond's 27-16 defeat by D Freeman saw Woodside take the points 6-4.
Woodside, at home in the Parren, won on all three rinks to take six points.
M Stainer beat K Klee 14-12, E Burrells saw off Q Davis 29-11 and D Howard got home by a similar scoreline against A Cook.
