Man attacked in High Street
A MAN has undergone facial surgery after suffering a seemingly motiveless attack on Southend's High Street.
The 22-year-old, from Great Wakering, was walking near the Omega 3 fish bar when he was attacked.
He was taken to hospital where he had metal plates and screws inserted into a broken jaw. Police are examining CCTV to try to trace the person responsible.

The list is now endless as to why I do not go shopping at Southend.

I hope this poor young man will be okay. What a truly awful thing to happen. I really do fear for my 2 year old son's future. I hope that the scars will heal both physically and mentally .

Hope the poor guy recovers from these horrific injuries. Lets hope the CCTV cameras were working and the police make an effort to catch these scum bags..
I moved to Australia from Southend 2 years ago and I haven't looked back. I still look at this site to remind myself why I don't live there anymore...

Then the few benefit PAYERS left here will be able to enjoy a massive surplus in the taxes paid and we should have a good life actually improving it!!

Very sorry to hear of this young man's ordeal and wish him like many, a good recovery after the trauma and pain he personally has gone through.
It would be good to get the perpetrators of this incident and put them through the same torture and perhaps they may think twice about doing it again?
Our son was attacked by six thugs whom held him down whilst kicking his head, kneecaps and eyes and mouth and probably would of killed him if it hadn't been for two men whom came to his aid and pulled them off.
All he was doing was waiting for a taxi to come home.
The people whom do this to others are cowards and inadequates, no doubt high on cocaine and other drugs?
They not only hurt the victim, but their families and friends and loved ones.
Perhaps this just shows that Policing should be stepped up especially as this type of crime and violence is on the increase?

I have not been to Southend for about 5 years now and won't be in the future. Southend has too many problems of all sorts and I find there are better places to shop/visit. I wish this young man a speedy recovery and hope the police do something, although I have my doubts and this will continue happening. The laws are not tough enough now.
