BRAVE staff helped firefighters tackle a huge blaze in an industrial site last (Thursday) night.

Firefighters from Southend and Rochford station were called to the blaze at GBN Services in the Purdeys Industrial Estate, Rochford, about 9.50pm.

It took firefighters four hours to get the inferno under control, while staff at the waste and skip hire company helped out by manning machinery in the yard.

The fire broke out after some building waste in the yard caught alight.
