A WOMAN has been arrested following a burglary incident which saw a suspect “pretend to be a nurse” at a supported living home in Southend.

Officers were called to the scene at Shelley Square at about 8.30am on April 9 following reports of a burglary.

The suspect entered three separate flats pretending to be a nurse and stole items including a laptop, a handbag and a wallet.

Enquiries within Southend Criminal Investigation Department have been ongoing.

Yesterday, officers from the force’s Operational Support Group arrested a 41-year-old woman from Westcliff in connection with this investigation, on suspicion of three counts of burglary dwelling and theft.  

She remains in custody.

However, detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have any information to contact them, quoting incident 42/MR/17692/24.
